What's 'really' next?

Oh my dear husband. It's SO true. He remembers only the positive side of events. This is not specific to his time in service. It extends all the way back to high school. In which he remembers sunshine and rainbows and I remember rainstorms and flash floods. Just to be clear, we went to the same high school... at the same time.

Maybe his sugar coated memory is what helped him find his way back to me after the Army. Maybe. ;)

I'm Jen. The co-team-leader of this crazy team called Patton. We have dreamt for over 13 years of what we would do when retirement was finally upon us. Some ideas...

Ride the rails like hobos.

Start a restaurant.

Open a dog shelter.

Run a summer camp... that would have the restaurant and the dog shelter as ancillary projects.

Start a Montessori preschool.

Go to LA and make it big (Addicus behind the camera and me in front).

Open a Powells type bookstore in some other awesome place.

Run a BnB in some super fun woodsy place.

Rent a building in downtown Portland and put ALL of these ventures under one roof, just on different floors. We'd call it the Patton Building.

When it comes to planning and generating ideas, We are NOT lacking. Where we DO lack is making goals and following through. NOT! Anymore.

Setting the ground work now, a year out from retirement, is step one in meeting our goals and making After Taps Adventures a project that will sustain us, not only in spirit, but in pocket as well.

As Addicus says,

Taps, taps. Lights out.
